Connect Android SMS

Archive text messages from an Android phone with the Archive Intel app.

Before you start

You need your Archive Intel login (your work email and the password you set on archiveintel.com) and your Android phone.

On the computer

  1. Log in to Archive Intel.
  2. Open Connectors.
  3. Click Android SMS, then Connect Account.
  4. Enter your mobile number, choose Personal or Business for the phone type, and click Save.

On the phone

  1. Download the Archive Intel app from the Google Play Store.
  2. Open the app and follow the prompts to disable battery optimization.
  3. Log in to the app with your work email and your archiveintel.com password.
  4. Enter your mobile number in the app and continue.
  5. Select Allow on each prompt: send and view SMS, access contacts, make and manage phone calls.
  6. Check each contact to archive and tap Import. Personal phones must select whitelisted contacts; Business phones do not need to select contacts.
  7. To add contacts later, tap the + button in the lower right.

Common problems

  • Temporary password rejected at first login: re-copy it with no trailing space, then set a new password.
  • App stops running in the background: disable battery optimization for the Archive Intel app.
